The Flames. Akhmedov give a final hit, Shanghai SIPG beat Hebei China Fortune by 2 to 1 in away match



Tonight, in the 3rd round of CSL league, Shanghai SIPG beat Hebei China Fortune by 2 to1 in away match. They have won three victories in the beginning of the new season and is currently ranked first in the league table.

Key players has come back, Oscar was absent



In this match, Shanghai SIPG central defenders, He Guan, Shi Ke and Cai Huikang, recovered from injury and entered the starting line-up. However, in the midfield, Brazilian star Oscar did not enter the list of players due to injury. The three foreign players who played were Hulk, Elkeson and Akhmedov.


Shanghai SIPG head coach Pereira continued to use the three-center-back formations, He Guan, Shike partner with U23 player Wei Zhen; Yu Hai and Fu Huan served as left and right side; the midfielder was Akhmedov, Cai Huikang and Lin Chuangyi; Hulk and Elkeson has placed upfront.

At the home stadium of Hebei China Fortune, Shanghai SIPG played very hard. The opponent almost scored in the 8’ minute of the opening match, and Dong Xuesheng hit on the goal post with his header.

Shanghai SIPG scored a goal just after one minute, and Elkeson was making use of the mistake between his opponent's goalkeeper Geng Xiaofeng and defender Jiang Zhipeng to score the goal.

Although Hebei China Fortune is making a big comeback, Yan Junling, the goal keeper of Shanghai SIPG has played a heroic role in resolving the single kick of rival forward Kaabi and Dong Xuesheng's short-range header.

In the second half, Hebei China Fortune still attack Shanghai SIPG. After 70 minutes of the match, they also replaced a tall center forward Marcos to continue to improve the attack, and in the 73’ minute, Jiang Zhipeng assisted Kaabi to equalize the score.

In the 80’ minute, Akhmedov who replaced Oscar to appear in the starting line-up, he received a wonderful pass from Li Shenglong, who came on as a substitute, and volleyed the far corner to help the team score the winning goal.


On the 5th April ( next Friday), Shanghai SIPG will play against Chongqing Siwei in home match for the 4th round of CSL league.

At the press conference after the match, head coach of Shanghai SIPG Pereira said that the injury situation still affected the team's performance in the match,  especially the absence of Oscar and Lyu Wenjun.

"For a team, there are a lot of injuries like this. Today we didn't play well, not the rhythm we wanted, not the football we wanted, we didn't play the match we deserved. However, Pereira praised the players' efforts in the math. "Fortunately, the players are working very hard on the pitch. The important thing is that the result is good. We got three points."


According to Pereira, Oscar was injured in yesterday's training session. "He got kicked, we need to do an MRI tomorrow to see how his knee is."

As for the opponent, Pereira said, "It's a tough match, we play against a strong team. They used a lot of long passes and high points, and they did well in the second point. It's not easy to play against such a team
